Food delivery workers have started to form groups to ensure they receive increased rights and protections in the post-pandemic world.
Mayor Adams and New York City ensure food delivery workers are guaranteed protections such as upfront information on routes, pay, and tips for each delivery.
The Mayor’s hyperbole included labeling these workers as the “…men and women who made sure your families could shelter in place safely.” While a bit dramatic it does call attention to the greater role these jobs played in big cities across the country – especially New York – during the pandemic.
