NY AG James Goes After Idling Bus Companies

New York Attorney General Letitia James is filing law suit against bus company Jofaz for violating New York’s anti-idling laws.

The city limits for idling are no more than 3 minutes while New York State is no more than 5 minutes. Idling around a school is 1 minute. The lawsuit is targeting CEO Joseph Fazzia’s three bus companies including Jofaz, Y7M Transit, and 3rd Avenue Transit for reported idling of over 10 minutes and near schools.

James said she is seeking justice for the communities that have to breathe in the polluted air – caused by the extra carbon emissions from the idling diesel fuel buses.
