The Education Collaborative – a group of more than 30 community organizations – wants New York City to spend upwards of $8 million on new programs to advance education initiatives for immigrants.
The main objective in this push is to hire more teachers and bilingual staff to service to more than 400 new immigrant students ages 16-21 that are entering the New York public high school system.
